Fall 2011 Bus Trips
 

Youth under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult over 21 unless otherwise noted.

Trips are subject to cancellation if minimum registration is not received.

REFUND POLICY

Registration fees for recreation programs/activities must be paid in advanced and shall be refunded in full to the payer of record if the County cancels the program/activity. If a participant cancels his/her participation in a program at least five (5) days prior to the first scheduled day, a full refund shall be paid less a $5 processing fee pursuant to County ordinance. Refunds will not be given for any other reason.

 

 


NEW YORK CITY (MIDTOWN MANHATTAN)
– Take a trip with us to the city that never sleeps. The bus will drop you off in the vicinity of Rockefeller Plaza where you will be on your own to explore Manhattan, noted for its access to theaters, restaurants, shops and museums. All trips will depart at 7:00 a.m. from the Kent County Administrative Complex, 555 Bay Road, Dover. We will depart from N.Y.C. at 7:00 p.m. and return approximately 11:00 p.m. The $35 fee includes transportation via private motor coach. Minimum of 35, maximum of 53.

CHRISTMAS IN NEW YORK CITY (MIDTOWN MANHATTAN) - Take a trip with us to New York City and see Rockefeller Center adorned in Christmas splendor. You will be dropped off in the vicinity of Rockefeller Plaza where you will be on your own to explore Manhattan, noted for its access to theaters, restaurants, shops, and museums. The $35 fee includes transportation via private motor coach. The bus will depart from the Kent County Administrative Complex, 555 Bay Road, Dover at 7:00 a.m. We will depart from N.Y.C. at 7:00 p.m. and return approximately 11:00 p.m. Minimum of 35, maximum of 53.

8410.01 - PENNSYLVANIA NATIONAL QUILT EXTRAVAGANZA – Saturday, September 17. Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, Oaks, PA. The Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza features a Merchants Mall of approximately 200 vendor booths offering contemporary and antique quilts, textiles, quilting supplies, books, sewing-related craft items, kits and clothing - everything for the quilter and home sewer and much more. The quilt show features all the competition entries, as well as special exhibitions. It's the perfect place for quilt enthusiasts and textile artists to meet, shop, learn and explore their art. The bus will depart from the Kent County Administrative Complex, 555 Bay Road, Dover at 10:00 a.m. and return approximately 5:00 p.m. The $45 fee includes entrance into the festival and transportation via private motor coach. Minimum of 35, maximum of 45. Registration must be received by Friday, September 9.

8411.01 - WASHINGTON D.C. (SMITHSONIAN AND THE MALL) - Saturday, September 24. Enjoy a day in our Nation’s Capital. The bus will drop you off on The Mall, near Constitution Avenue where you will be on your own to tour the 13 museums or stroll around the Capital. Also scheduled for this day is the National Book Festival. The $25 fee includes transportation via private motor coach. The bus will depart from the Kent County Administrative Complex, 555 Bay Road, Dover at 8:00 a.m. and return approximately 7:00 p.m. Minimum of 35, maximum of 53.

8412.01 - BALTIMORE INNER HARBOR – Saturday, October 1. Take a trip with us to the beautiful Inner Harbor. You will be on your own to explore the many shops, museums and other attractions, including the National Aquarium. The fee is $25 and includes transportation via private motor coach. The bus will depart from the Kent County Administrative Complex, 555 Bay Road, Dover at 8:00 a.m. and return approximately 7:00 p.m. Minimum of 35, maximum of 53.

8413.01 - HISTORIC MOUNT VERNON – Saturday, October 8. Spend a day in the life of one of our country’s founding fathers, George Washington, as we travel to beautiful and historic Mount Vernon, VA. This trip features a tour of the mansion and a scheduled cruise on the Potomac. Lunch will be on your own. Fee is $45 for adults, $35 for children (ages 6 – 12) and $25 for tots (ages 5 and under), and includes entrance fee, cruise fee, and transportation via private motor coach. Bus will depart from the Kent County Administrative Complex, 555 Bay Road, Dover at 8:00 a.m. and return approximately 7:30 p.m. Please note: There is a lot of walking involved with this trip. Minimum of 35, maximum of 53. Registration must be received by Tuesday, September 27.

8414.01 - RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR – NEW YORK CITY – Wednesday, December 14. The Radio City Christmas Spectacular stars the world famous Radio City Rockettes in an unparalleled show featuring the Rockettes’ signature eye-high kicks, precision choreography and exciting show- stopping numbers that will delight the whole family. This legendary Spectacular has dazzled and inspired over 65 million people for more than 75 years and continues to create memories that will last a lifetime. The $90 fee includes ticket to the show and transportation via private motor coach. The bus will depart from the Kent County Administrative Complex, 555 Bay Road, Dover at 9:00 a.m. (show time 2:00 p.m.) We will depart N.Y.C. at 6:00 p.m. and return approximately 10:00 p.m. Maximum of 53.

8415.01 - SIGHT AND SOUND (MILLENNIUM THEATER) – Friday, December 16. Lancaster, PA. This holiday season, Christmas memories come to life as a brand-new sensory experience highlights the return of Miracle of Christmas to the Millennium Theatre. The Theatre will be grandly decorated with lights, greenery, nativity scenes and a spectacular 30-foot Christmas tree. But all of the holiday finery is only a prelude to the thrilling story of Christmas retold live on stage. Fee is $100 for adults only and includes transportation via private motor coach, ticket to the event and dinner at a local smorgasbord after the show. The bus will depart from the Kent County Administrative Complex, 555 Bay Road, Dover at 1:30 p.m. and return approximately 10:00 p.m. Maximum of 48. Registration must be received by Friday, November 4.
