REFUND POLICY
Registration fees for recreation programs/activities must be paid in advanced and shall be refunded in full to the payer of record if the County cancels the program/activity. If a participant cancels his/her participation in a program at least five (5) days prior to the first scheduled day, a full refund shall be paid less a $5 processing fee pursuant to County ordinance. Refunds will not be given for any other reason.

3400.01 - EXPLORE KENT COUNTY’S HUNN CONSERVATION AREA ON THE ST. JONES RIVER GREENWAY BY CANOE AND GUIDED NATURE WALK - Ages 12 and up. (Children ages 12 to 16 must be accompanied by an adult.) Saturday, June 26, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Rain date: Sunday June 27.) Participants will meet at the Lebanon Landing Boat Dock at 10:00 a.m. Tour Tidbury Creek and oxbows of the St. Jones River at the Hunn Conservation Area, immediately upstream from the Lebanon Landing Recreation Area. Several unique riparian habitats remain accessible for nature study and recreational canoeing in this region near Dover Air Force Base and Kent County’s Nature Preserve at Sorghum Mill Road on the St. Jones River. Osprey, herons, otter, Kingfishers, and the occasional eagle can be seen by the patient observer. By foot, explore the preserved upland forest habitat of the Hunn preserve. A paddling refresher will be provided before we head out on the water. Fee is $30 and includes use of canoe, paddles, life jacket, and tour guide. Please bring water, snacks, and sunscreen. Dress accordingly. Minimum of 8, maximum of 14. Instructors: Kent County and St. Jones Reserve Staff.
3401.01 - CANOE SPRING CREEK ON THE MURDERKILL RIVER IN KENT COUNTY - Ages 12 and up. (Children ages 12 to 16 must be accompanied by an adult.) Saturday, June 12, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Rain date: Sunday, June 13.) Participants will meet at Lake Forest East Elementary, Frederica at 8:30 a.m. Paddle up the remarkable forested tidal Spring Creek from salt marsh at Frederica and Rt. 12 to freshwater and back. On the way, see the transformation of the tidal wetland community and observe Northern Harriers, herons, Wood Ducks, turtles, and Kingfishers. The easy 6-mile canoe trip is timed to travel upstream with a rising tide and back down at slack. A paddling refresher will be provided before we head out on the water. Fee is $30 and includes use of canoe, paddles, life jacket and guide. Bring an afternoon snack, water bottle, hat, & sunscreen. Dress accordingly. Minimum of 8, maximum of 14. Instructors: Kent County and St. Jones Reserve staff.
NEW YORK CITY (MIDTOWN MANHATTAN) – Take a trip with us to the city that never sleeps. The bus will drop you off in the vicinity of Rockefeller Plaza where you will be on your own to explore Manhattan, noted for its access to theaters, restaurants, shops and museums. All trips will depart at 7:00 a.m. from the Kent County Administrative Complex, 555 Bay Road, Dover. We will depart from N.Y.C. at 7:00 p.m. and return approximately 11:00 p.m. The $35 fee includes transportation via private motor coach. Minimum of 35, maximum of 45.

The $25 fee includes transportation via private motor coach. 3414.01 - WASHINGTON NATIONAL ZOO – Saturday, August 7. Make it a family affair and join us when we visit one of the largest animal habitats on the East Coast. The bus will depart from the Kent County Administrative Complex, 555 Bay Road, Dover at 8:00 a.m. and return approximately 6:00 p.m. Fee is $25 and includes entrance into the zoo and transportation via private motor coach. Minimum of 35, maximum of 45.
3415.01 - WHITEWATER RAFTING – Ages 8 and up. Saturday, August 7. Spectacular dam release weekend on the Lehigh River! Enjoy 12 miles and 5 hours of Class III whitewater rafting and outstanding scenery. No experience necessary. While paddling over 17 rapids, you’ll scream, laugh, swim, and have an excellent day. This trip requires a ½ mile hike to the put in area, some of it while carrying the raft through a creek. The private motor coach will depart from the Kent County Administrative Complex, 555 Bay Road, Dover at 7:00 a.m. and return approximately 8:00 p.m. (NO DINNER STOP ON RETURN). Fee is $90 per person (no one under the age of 8, no exceptions). Minimum of 35, maximum of 45. Registrations must be received in our office by Monday, July 12.
3416.01 - PENNSYLVANIA RENAISSANCE FAIRE – Lancaster, PA. - Saturday, August 14. Named one of the “Top 100 Events in America” by the American Bus Association. The Faire, with a cast of hundreds of colorfully costumed merry-makers, is a rollicking recreation of a 16th century country festival. Hosted on the grounds of the Mount Hope Estate and Winery, tours are available. The bus will depart from the Kent County Administration Complex, 555 Bay Road, Dover at 8:00 a.m. and return approximately 8:00 p.m. Fee is $45 for adults and $30 for children ages 5-11. The fee includes entrance into the Faire and transportation via private motor coach. Minimum of 35, maximum of 45.
