The various environmental programs that are administered by Kent County are presented on this page with hyperlinks to the more detailed pages on specific programs. MISSION The mission of the environmental program at Kent County Levy Court is to protect and preserve the critical environmental aspects of the County, to provide its customers with guidance and assistance in meeting their environmental obligations, and to lead the County into the 21st Century as a leader in the State of Delaware and the US in environmental awareness activism and programs. Regulatory Compliance Programs These programs are administered by the County under various ordinance requirements that have been instituted in response to Delaware Dept. of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) and US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) regulations. Fats, Oil And Grease (FOG) Permit Program Pretreatment Program Septage Program Kent County Environmental Management System Information Kent County Department of Public Works (DPW) and its partner K-F Environmental Technologies, Inc. (KFETI) have been selected to participate in the Third EMS Initiative for Local Governments. This is a program partially funded by the US EPA and the Global Environment & Technology Foundation (GETF) to assist local governments with the development of an environmental management system. Kent County will be participating along with 11 other governmental organizations from across the country in the two year long project.
