Levy Court breaks ground on new access road

(Dover, De.) - - The Kent County Levy Court, Tuesday, April 13, kicked off construction of its new access road with a groundbreaking ceremony located at the site of the Kent County Complex. The road, which will be built on 2.26 acres of land, will run in between the Air Base Carpet Mart and East Dover Elementary School once completed.

The access road will improve public safety by relocating the entrance and exit away from nearby business= located at the intersection of Route 13 and South Little Creek Road. Additional features include a narrower street thereby discouraging speeding, a shorter road resulting in lower costs of long-term maintenance, curbs and sidewalks, and a fence that runs along the east side of the road to provide security for the school yard.

The Phase One Access Road Project is made possible through contributions of  Transportation Funds provided by Senator Colin Bonini, Senator John Still, Representative Gerald Buckworth, Representative Bruce Ennis, Representative Bobby Quillen, Representative Donna Stone, Representative Pam Thornburg, and Representative Nancy Wagner.
