Community & Outreach
Community Programs and Outreach
The Emergency Medical Services Division feels strongly about the importance of community education.
Would you like a Paramedic Assist class at your Fire Company?
How about bicycle safety or first aid?
The Department is involved in community CPR training, bicycle safety and first aid programs for children and seat belt checks in the local high schools.
Kent county Paramedics have gone out to the community to do programs for schools, boy scout and girl scout troops, and many other organizations.
In addition, the County's All Terrain Medical Response Team is available for demonstrations and community events.
Anyone interested in having the Paramedics attend a community event in the central Delaware region, should contact Jennifer Graham at (302)735-2180.
Car Seat Checks-
We are one of only a few NHTSA fitting stations in Kent County. Please call (302) 735-2180 to schedule a car seat safety inspection by a NHTSA certified car seat technician. We will look your seat up for recall information, as well as confirm that it is installed correctly.
Refrigerator Card Program-
Please contact us at (302) 735-2180 for a Kent County DPS refrigerator card.
Will vital emergency medical information be available in your time of need?
This program program is offered to those residents that suffer from medical disease and take medications on a daily basis. A form is provided for the participant to list their medical history, medications taken on a daily basis, and any medication or other significant allergies. Other information can include the family doctor, cardiologist, or other specialist and preferred hospital. The form is placed on your refrigerator by magnet and is taken to the hospital with the patient.
