The Kent County Employee Council advises and assists the Personnel Director and/or the County Administrator with matters relating to any revisions or amendments to the County's personnel rules and other concerns expressed to the Council by the County's employees. Employee Council also selects the Employee of the Year.
The Council consists of seven (7) members elected by the merit system (classified) employees of Kent County and serve for a term of two (2) years. Employee Council nominations are accepted each year in January for the expiring terms, elections are held in February when necessary, and the newly elected members take office in March. No more than two employees from the same County department or row office can serve on Employee Council at the same time.

Council meetings are held each month in the Kent County Administrative Complex, 555 Bay Road, Dover, Delaware 19901 or other Kent County facility. A quorum of four (4) members is necessary before the Council can conduct a meeting or transact business.
